GIS Database for "Infrastructure-Based Prioritization and Cost Analysis of Offshore Freshened Groundwater: A Northern Adriatic Case Study"

This GIS geodatabase contains the spatial datasets underlying the study "Infrastructure-Based Prioritization and Cost Analysis of Offshore Freshened Groundwater: A Northern Adriatic Case Study" (Thomas, Tschaikowski, Katz & Micallef). It provides the openly available geospatial layers used in the two-step framework presented in the manuscript: the Euro-Mediterranean regional prioritization of offshore freshened groundwater (OFG) sites, combining water-stress indicators with proximity to existing desalination plants and oil and gas platforms, and the detailed spatial assessment of the Northern Adriatic study area offshore Rimini, Italy, including well locations, the Po River paleochannel, and the mapped OFG extent. The data are provided in open GeoPackage (.gpkg) format to support reproducibility and reuse. Coordinate reference system: [EPSG:3857].
