资源简介:
The spreadsheet contains data from 101 children between 4.5 and 6 years tested in the UK and in Germany in 2016. Children were assigned to one of two conditions (baseline, transmission chain). The data contains information about:
- age in months
- sex
- ethnicity
- condition (baseline, transmission chain)
- if applicable: number of chain
- if applicable: position/generation within chain (ranging from 1 to 10)
Children were asked to build something as tall as possible using 100 g of plasticine and 30 plastic sticks. (this is an adaptation of the "spaghetti tower task" (Caldwell & Millen, 2008). Building time was 10 min.
The main dependent variables are:
- final tower height (= height of the tower that was standing at the end of the testing session)
- tower shape (using the classification system in Reindl, Apperly, Beck, & Tennie, in press)
The spreadsheet also contains data on:
- whether the "final tower" was also the tower with the maximum height (yes/no)
- the height of the tower with the maximum height
- the shape of the tower with the maximum height
- actual testing duration (max 10 min)
