Inhibition of liver cancer stem-like cells with a new retinoid Sulfarotene

Tumor-repopulating cells (TRCs) with highly tumorigenic and self-renewing abilities were selected from liver cancer cell lines in soft three-dimensional (3D) fibrin gels. We assessed the preclinical efficacy of Sulfarotene using multiple vitro studies and preclinical model of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The combinational analysis of transcriptome sequencing and ChIP-seq were used to investigate the action mechanism of the retinoid compound. These data demonstrate the clear rationale of the new retinoid Sulfarotene in treatment of HCC with high efficacy.
