资源简介:
The National Recording Project for Indigenous Performance data collection consists of audio recordings and documentation of indigenous Australian music from Arnhem Land and the Daly Region, NT. The collection is an outcome of a national collaborative recording project that focussed on the documentation and archiving of audio and video recordings of Indigenous performance traditions in remote regions of Australia. The National Project for Indigenous Performance was conducted to document indigenous Australian music collections, and enable collaboration between members of indigenous Australian communities, researchers, ethnomusicologists and linguists in order to translate original song texts, identify performers and performances, archive and preserve recordings of performances, and record contextual information about the songs, e.g. associated places of importance or key concepts.
The data collection includes recordings and documentation in a variety of media. Audio files were digitised in standard .mp3 and .wav formats. Video files were recorded in .mov, .mp4 and .mpeg2 formats. Documentary materials were collected and stored in multiple formats, including .xml, plain text, .rtf, word and .pdf. Supplementary materials include images in .tiff and .jpeg format.
Project collaborators include Linda Barwick, Allan Marrett, Marcia Langton, Aaron Corn, Mandawuy Yunupingu, Alan James and Witiyana Marika.
