Transcriptomes of vascular endothelial cells from diabetic patient derived fibrovascular membranes. Homo sapiens

Proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) is a blinding complication of Diabetes mellitus that has few treatment options. Studies into disease mechanisms are limited by a lack of strong animal models. Thus, we employed novel techniques to isolated vascular endothelial cells directly from fibrovascular membranes of PDR patients and performed transcritomic analysis to identify potential therapeutic targets.
