Coronavirus impact on textile orders in Europe 2020

The coronavirus pandemic had an impact on every aspect of life and economy and some industries were disrupted particularly hard. Apparel and clothing is one of those where the crisis resulted in unparalleled drops in turnover and production. In Europe, including a major textile exporting country Turkey, the decrease in textile orders was most visible during mid-April. Between 16-28 April, 2020, orders from companies based in Europe dropped by 45 percent on average.
