Isolation of a novel vermamoeba-infected virus associated with the family Mamonoviridae

We have isolated a novel vermamoeba-infected virus strain from freshwater collected in the Inasegawa river in Kanagawa, Japan. This virus is closely related to the previously reported Clandestinovirus and Ushikuvirus. Through the isolation of this virus and this project, we could refine the classification of existing isolated strains and propose a new taxonomy.
