The present invention relates to an insecticidal polypeptide AXMI-115 of delta-endotoxin and a nucleotide sequence encoding the same; an expression cassette comprising the claimed nucleic acid; a host cell comprising the claimed expression cassette; a plant cell， a plant or seed thereof comprising the nucleotide sequence encoding the claimed polypeptide. The invention further relates to an antibody specific to the claimed polypeptide; an insecticidal composition comprising the claimed polypeptide. The invention also relates to a method for producing the claimed polypeptide， a method for controlling or killing a lepidopteran or coleopteran insect pest population by means of the claimed polypeptide and to a method for protecting a plant from a lepidopteran or coleopteran insect pest by means of the expression vector encoding the claimed polypeptide.
