Mrs. Humchung is among the oldest people in Thragom. She is demonstrating the process of steaming lichen with ash in order to prepare it for cooking. She believes that consuming dry lichen as a vegetable washes away any dirt or hair that exists inside our bodies. Hence, the people of Thragom make sure that they consume lichen once in a year.
