Earthquake epicenters in Ohio and adjacent areas

This data set was originally developed to document the magnitude and spatial distribution of earthquakes with epicenters in Ohio and surrounding areas. This information allows users to more easily gain information about individual Ohio earthquakes from source. In addition, this dataset will allow users to determine which portions of the state have been historically more susceptible to earthquakes and apply this knowledge to varied applications including earthquake insurance rate determinations, construction strength determine for bridges and buildings, and deep-earth structure research.
