Maternal Ep400, a component of the TIP600-EP400 complex, is required for oocyte quality and early embryo development in mice. Ep400 deficiency in mouse oocytes had minimum disturbance on oocyte transcriptome. In mouse preimplantation embryos, EP400 was found to occupy active chromatin regions to promote global transcription activity.
