Serum from Aotus monkeys immunized with the epitope displayed an IFA antibody titer at 15-20 days after the second immunization and 20 days after the third immunization. The anti-32958 antibody displayed a membrane fluorescence pattern on P. falciparum sporozoites. Substitution of sporozoite-hepatocyte critical binding residues in the natural sequence made the peptide more immunogenic and modified its 3D structure.
