To investigate the changes in transcriptomic profiles of colonic samples by the colonization of two Candida spp. in the gut. Both species upregulate the pathways related to protein processing in the endoplasmic reticulum, antigen processing, and presentation. In addition, C. tropicalis enhances cell proliferation and cytokine-related genes. C57BL/6 female mice (6 weeks old) were housed in gnotobiotic isolators for the experiment. Mice were colonized via oral gavage with C. albicans SC5314 and C. tropicalis MYA-3404 (10^8 CFU) for 30 days. We then collected colon for RNA-seq run.
