Relative surface area of water bodies in the Turku region

The data is a raster level where the attribute data is information about the relative surface area of waters within a certain area around each pixel. For regions of different sizes, their own raster planes with a radius of 300 m, 500 m, 1 000 m, 1 500 m, 2 000 m and 5 000 m. Value 0 means that there are no water areas at all, and the value 1 means that the waters are 100 % of the area within the calculation area. The data was produced from SLICES land use data with a 10-metre resolution of the National Land Survey of Finland. Marine areas, rivers and lakes have been defined as water areas in the production of the data. The data is generalised to a resolution of 100 meters. The data was produced as part of the HERCULES project/consortium funded by the Academy of Finland’s Climate Change and Health (CLIHE) research programme in 2020-2023.
