资源简介:
A recent Salmonella Typhimurium genotype, named ST213, associated with food-animals and humans in Mexico, has emerged as a public health problem due to its multi-drug resistance phenotype and association with human systemic infections. We applied whole-genome sequencing to analyze the genomic basis of the evolution of this recently emerged genotype. Previous studies had revealed that the accessory genome of ST213 strains includes multi-drug resistance IncA/C plasmids and distinctive chromosomal and plasmid prophages, which could encode key adaptive traits that explain the evolutionary paths and ecological success of this Typhimurium genotype. This data is part of a pre-publication release.
