The following datasets contain acceleration data collected by means of both an optical motion capture system (MoCap, Vicon) and the KiD platform. KiD platform utilises a wearable, battery powered device, incorporating an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) comprising a three-axis accelerometer, a three-axis gyroscope, a three-axis compass. Data were collected from 20 children, instructed to perform ten cycles of four types of right-hand movements: horizontal, vertical, elliptical and figure-eight. After data collection, both KiD and MoCap data were run through a low-pass Butterworth filter with a 6 Hz cutoff. x-, y-, z-acceleration (Ax, Ay, Az) and acceleration magnitude (Am) were computed for both KiD and MoCap data. In order to evaluate agreement between KiD and MoCap, we computed Intra-class Correlation Coefficients (ICCs, McGraw and Wong, 1996) of Am. We averaged for each time-bin Am across the ten movement cycles of each participant, separately for each movement type. The files "ICC_KiD.xlsx" and "ICC_MoCap.xlsx" contain the data used for ICC analyses. In each file, column A refers to subject ID; column B refers to condition IC, where 1 = horizontal, 2 = vertical, 3 = elliptical, 4 = figure-eight; columns from C-L refer to the acceleration magnitude from 10% to 100% of movement time.
