The water area derived from GF-1/6 and water level derived from ICESat-2 were adopted to build the models for monitoring spatial-temporal variation of water storage of lakes in Qinghai Province. We developed a dataset of spatial-temporal variation of lake water storage in Qinghai Province during 2018-2022 via the models. The dataset contains a total of 60 monthly storage variation of 33 lakes an area of more than 30 km2 in Qinghai Province during 2018-2022. These lakes are mainly distributed in the west, north and southeast of Qinghai Province. This data set is stored in the format of Microsoft Excel (*. xlxs), and is divided into two worksheets, named "Monthly storage capacity variation _201801_202212" and "Monthly water body area _201801_202212" from left to right, recording the statistics of monthly average water storage variation and area of 33 lakes from 2018 to 2022. Each worksheet consists of 34 rows multiplied by 63 columns, with each row representing the remote sensing monitoring results of a lake. The first three columns represent the serial number, lake code, and lake name, while the remaining columns represent the year and month of monitoring. The unit of monitoring results for storage variables is (million m3), and the unit of monitoring results for water area is (km2).
