Resource Consumption of Industry in Austria

The report provides an overview of the quantities of wood, ore, metal and mineral raw materials applied in Austria and used in industry. With the help of goods use statistics and economic scenarios, a consumption scenario will be designed for each sector by 2030. If specific raw material uses are updated, the use of goods will increase significantly with economic development (e.g. natural stones from 47.7 million tonnes to 77.0 million tonnes). The availability and reuse of rare metals in Austria is dedicated to a separate section. Rare metals are critical to supply and are economically important. While mass metals already have relatively high recycling rates, these are still very low in rare metals for economic reasons.
