Maternal exposure to red rooibos does not alter bone development in male or female Sprague-Dawley rats offspring

The objectives of this study were to determine whether maternal consumption of red rooibos throughout pregnancy and lactation improved bone mineral density, bone structure and bone strength in rat offspring, and to determine potential sex-specific responses. This dataset includes bone outcomes collected from in vivo and ex vivo micro-computed tomography analyses and ex vivo mechanical strength testing.
