Metagenomic sequencing of microbial communities across a landscape impacted by an active nickel and copper mine in Ontario, Canada. Samples from an oxidation reservoir and three wastewater inputs to the reservoir were analyzed in order to understand how microorganisms mediate biogeochemical transformations and are distributed across mining-impacted ecosystems.
