Controls Energy labels and minimum requirements for electrical appliances in Switzerland

Since 1 January 2002, energy consumption and other equipment characteristics for various household appliances have to be declared with the energy label in Switzerland.The Energy Ordinance (EnV) sees before the Federal Office of Energy (BFE) checks whether products placed on the market comply with the provisions of the Regulation. The BFE commissioned Electrosuisse and the Swiss Federal High Current Inspectorate ESTI to carry out these controls.They are divided into three stages: a general market check, administrative checks on test reports and controls of manufacturer’s declarations.
