This dataset comprehensively documents soil hydrology-nutrient dynamics across five afforested species (Pinus elliottii, Eucalyptus urophylla, Koelreuteria bipinnata, Cinnamomum camphora, and Acacia auriculiformis) and bare ground controls in Benggang erosion zones of Leizhou Peninsula, China (20°12'-21°35'N, 109°30'-110°55'E). Data were collected during July 2019 and July 2023 from 35 permanent plots (7 replicates per species × 5 species), with standardized sampling at 0–10 cm depth using a five-point mixed method. Field measurements include geographic coordinates (GPS), altitude, slope, litter thickness, and stand parameters (tree height, DBH); laboratory analyses quantify 13 key indicators:Hydrological properties: Bulk density (BD, g/cm³), total porosity (TPo, %), soil water content (SWC, %), soil water potential (SWP, kPa), available water capacity (AWC, %), particle size distribution (sand/silt/clay %), and fractal dimension (D)Nutrient metrics: Soil organic carbon (SOC, g/kg), total nitrogen (TN, g/kg), total phosphorus (TP, g/kg), and stoichiometric ratios (C/N, C/P, N/P)Data processing adhered to international standards: BD/TPo/AWC were determined via ring-knife method , SOC via potassium dichromate oxidation (Walkley-Black), TN via Kjeldahl digestion, and TP via NaOH-molybdenum-antimony colorimetry. Particle size analysis followed hydrometer protocol (ASTM D422), with fractal dimension D derived from volume-based scaling models.
