中央研究院現有院士293人，其中數理科學組71人、工程科學組64人、生命科學組98人、人文及社會科學組60人（國內99人、國外179人、大陸及港澳地區15人）。院士為終身名譽職。

As of the current count, Academia Sinica has 293 academicians. These academicians are divided into four academic divisions: 71 in the Division of Mathematical Sciences, 64 in the Division of Engineering Sciences, 98 in the Division of Life Sciences, and 60 in the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences. Geographically, 99 are based in Taiwan, 179 reside overseas, and 15 are from mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao. Academicians hold lifelong honorary positions.
