INSTRUCTOR ADOPTION OF ONLINE COLLABORATIVE LEARNING TOOLS: BLACKBOARD VS. FREE AND OPEN SOURCE SYSTEMS

Data gathered from my dissertation study on the use of free and open source system (FOSS) technologies for the use of collaborative work in online courses. The data consists of responses from higher education instructors who have taught online and used a FOSS technologies to facilitate collaborative work. This represents the instructors' opinion on how the technology worked, how they were supported by the different resources at their institution, what technologies they prefer, why they chose to adopt FOSS despite having access to an LMS, specifically Blackboard.
