Polish towns mesurements database
收藏资源简介:
The file contains a dataset of measurements of the widths of market-facing frontages (building plots) reconstructed on the basis of historical and modern cadastral plans of selected regular towns located in present-day Poland, most of which were founded during the Middle Ages, primarily in the 13th century. Separate worksheets include measurement data for the following towns: Byczyna, Bydgoszcz, Chełmno, Głuchołazy, Gryfów Śląski, Jawor, Kamienna Góra, Kluczbork, Kraków, Niemcza, Oleśnica, Oława, Paczków, Poznań, Strzegom, Świdnica, Świebodzice, Wrocław, Ząbkowice Śląskie, and Ziębice. The measurement data served as the basis for statistical analyses aimed at reconstructing the original widths of urban plots and inferring the land measurement systems (units of length) used during the foundation of these towns.
