Data for: Ecosystem-scale assessment of complementary indicator species reveals an expansive but spatially variable conservation umbrella

This DOI contains the data used to produce results in "Ecosystem-scale assessment of complementary indicator species reveals an expansive but spatially variable conservation umbrella." SpeciesObs_Validated.RDS - contains encounter histories (1, 0, or NA) for surrogate species and the avian community in a list format. Each species object consists of 6 columns (repeated surveys) and 849 rows (sites). ObsCovs_Effort.RDS - contains raw and standardized effort covariates for nocturnal (spotted owl) and diurnal species (all others). SiteCovs.RDS - contains raw and standardized elevation and latitude information for each surveyed site. Coding was completed in R and utilized the 'unmarked' package. The three RDS files can be imported into R, a pair of species can be chosen and compiled for anaysis using 'unmarkedFrameOccuMulti' and models can be run using 'occuMulti' and setting maxOrder = 2.
