High Redshift Radio-Loud Quasars

GT Observations of luminous high redshift radioloud quasars are proposed aspart of the XMM GT programme. The aims are to probe the local environment ofquasars at high redshift, by means of the intervening absorbing matter.Another goal is to learn more about the central engine from the Xraycontinuum plus Fe line / reflection reprocessing. Insight can also be gainedinto the evolutionary properties of quasars. A specific aim with theradioloud quasars will be to study the effects of the relativistic jet onthe Xray emission and also to determine whether any Xray absorption isintrinsically associated with the quasars. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
