Replication Data for: The Symbolic Power of the Research Excellence Framework. Evidence from a case study on the individual and collective adaptation of British Sociologists.

This repository contains the modified Sociology REF2014 - Excel files. The first files include the Submission Abstracts (when available), Author Names, Author Affiliations and google scholar citations in addition to the original REF data. The topic distribution is attached to the second file and can be used for replication of the graphics and the jensen-shannon divergence. The python files contain 1. the script for calculation of the LDA, perplexity and coherence of the models as well as a html generated using LDAVis. The 2nd file contains the script for generating descriptive statistics. The 3rd to 5th scripts are used to reproduce the graphics in the paper.
