Court Value (CV): a historically portable NBA/ABA player-season value metric

Court Value (CV) rates every NBA (1951–52 to present) and ABA (1967–68 to 1975–76) regular season on one historically portable scale, using only information recorded since 1952. The inputs are box-score production, responsibility within the team, the team's margin of victory in the games the player actually played, and a bounded team-defense credit, all standardized within each league-season. Version 1.1 applies one defensive rule to every season, so full CV covers NBA 1952–2026 and ABA 1968–76. This archive contains the public score file (PUBLIC_cv_scores.csv), the calculator code, the technical specification, worked examples, validation and limitations.
