Obesity and overweight are major public health issues, the main cause being energy homeostasis dysregulation due to Western diet consumption. Gut microbiota is known to centrally influence energy homeostasis regulation, but little is known about its specific composition evolution during a switch from a regular high fiber low sucrose diet to a high-fat high-sucrose diet. Thus, this study aimed to analyze the fecal microbiota evolution in mice during this dietary switch to better understand the implication of gut microbiota in energy homeostasis regulation.
