This dataset contains 16S rRNA amplicon sequences, derived from bacterial communities sampled along a transect from 60°N to 82°N ("TRANSSIZ" cruise with RV Polarstern in May/June 2015). Bacterial community composition was subsequently contextualized with concentrations of volatile organic compounds.
