Projects for the enhancement and development of the Lazio coast

L.R. 5/01/2001, No. 1 contains the “Rules for the enhancement and development of the coast of Lazio”, in favour of the coastal municipalities of the provinces of Viterbo, Rome and Latin. Pending the reorganisation of the regional legislation on the valorisation and development of the Lazio coast, referred to in the aforementioned Regional Law No 1/2001 and subsequent amendments, the Regional Executive, with the “Regional Financial Law for 2008” No 26/2007, in Article 41, established the “extraordinary fund for the economic development of the Lazio coast”, aimed at promoting the implementation of interventions in the municipalities of the Lazio coast. With Regional Executive Resolutions Nos. 758/2009, 227/2014 and 234/2016, three Public Notices were approved for the presentation of expressions of interest by coastal municipalities, aimed at co-financing interventions aimed at improving and strengthening tourist attractiveness as well as recovering, enhancing and supporting the redevelopment of waterfronts and urban contexts. As of 31 December 2017, 66 projects were admitted as a whole, mainly concerning the construction of pavements, cycle-pedestrian tracks, access to the sea, lighting systems, parking areas, refurbishments of road paving/public spaces, urban furniture.
