Human oral microbiome response to sonicating toothbrush

This study examined the oral microbiome of nine individuals to assess changes due to using a sonicating toothbrush. All subjects enrolled in the study used a manual toothbrush prior to participation. Three subjects continued with normal oral hygiene practices while six individuals started using a sonicating toothbrush. Saliva was collected on days 0, 7, 21 and 42, DNA extracted and sequenced.
