Diversity and distribution of the US Populus mycobiome

We have collected the largest standardized dataset of aboveground and belowground fungiassociated with Populus, a widespread and widely used model tree system, using a molecularfield study applied to natural ecosystems across the United States. This extensive databaserepresents an important resource to examine continent-scale patterns in host specificity andenvironmental sensitivity of plant-fungal interactions in an economically and ecologically vitalplant genus.
