Rapana japonica Dunker, 1882 (Gastropoda: Muricidae): Holotype Photographs and Historical Labels, Museum für Naturkunde Berlin (MfN 103966)

𝗥𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗷𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮 Dunker, 1882 was described by Wilhelm Dunker in the Index molluscorum maris japonici (1882: 43, pl. 13, figs 24–25). The species is currently accepted as 𝗕𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗺𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘅 𝗷𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘂𝘀 (Dunker, 1882), Muricidae: Coralliophilinae. This dataset provides high-resolution photographic documentation of the holotype preserved in the molluscan collection of the 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺 𝗳ü𝗿 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗸𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻 under catalogue number 𝗠𝗳𝗡 𝟭𝟬𝟯𝟵𝟲𝟲. The deposited material includes photographs of the specimen in multiple orientations, images of its associated historical labels and a prepared photographic plate.
