Investigations into the Marine Hatchetfishes (Stomiiformes: Sternoptychidae)

This study was an Investigation into the evolutionary history of the Sternoptychidae using morphological and genomic data that tested the intrarelationships of the marine hatchetfishes and their allies focusing on the traditional Sternoptychidae. The results recovered a monophyletic Sternoptychidae, but neither traditional subfamily was recovered as monophyletic, so no subfamilies were recommended.
