A price survey conducted at supermarkets in Wakayama City revealed that the average price of 1 kg of cherries in July 2024 was 2,871 yen. Compared to the national average of 4,119 yen, the price of 1 kg of cherries in Wakayama City is 1,248 yen cheaper. During the period from January 2015 to July 2024 (the past 20 months), the month with the highest cherry price at supermarkets within Wakayama City was June 2020, at 3,859 yen, while the month with the lowest price was July 2017, at 2,220 yen. The price difference between the peak (June 2020) and the lowest (July 2017) price periods for cherries in the Wakayama City area is 1,248 yen.
