Control and MCJ-deficient mice (8-10 week-old mice) were treated with 3% Dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) (36-50 kDa) during 6 days followed by two days of recovery with sterile water. Feces were collected at the end of the experiment and stored at -80ºC until processing. Then, flow-cytometry-based bacterial cell sorting and 16S sequencing was used to characterize taxa-specific coating of the intestinal microbiota with immunoglobulin A in MCJ-KO deficient mice model (IgA-SEQ).
