Greater amberjack is widely distributed in tropical and temperate waters of whole world and important aquaculture fish in Japan. Recently, it is advisable to cultivate breeded artificial seedings because Japan fish farmers cultivate expensive natural seedings imported from China. For functional gene identification for biological traits and breeding greater amberjack by marker-assisted selection (MAS) or gene-assisted selection (GAS), whole-genome single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) is one of the most important genomic resources. To detect SNP in greater amberjack genome, we need very correct whole genome reference sequence. And, we are developing whole genome de novo sequence of one male greater amberjack by Hiseq2500 and PacBio RSII.
