Starmerella batistae genome sequencing

Here we isolated a variant of Starmerella batistae strain CBS8550, an acidophilic and thermotolerant yeast capable of producing sophorolipid biosurfactants. We have conducted a de novo telomere-to-telomere genome assembly for this yeast, comprising three chromosomes (5.22 Mbp, 2.18 Mbp and 1.86 Mbp) as well as a mitochondrial genome (38 Kb) including structural and functional annotations were performed.
