Supplementary Data for the Systematic Review on Digital Strategies for Academic Engagement in Higher Education

This dataset brings together the data and supplementary materials generated from a systematic literature review with bibliometric analysis on digitally mediated strategies for promoting academic engagement in higher education. The final corpus comprises 69 studies, classified into the Main Core (MC; n = 40), Main Core with Critical Intersection (MC + CI; n = 13), and Critical Intersection (CI; n = 16). An in-depth qualitative synthesis was conducted with 30 studies, selected through a stratified approach (18 MC, 6 MC + CI, and 6 CI). The deposit includes a bibliographic catalogue of the final corpus, protection and commitment matrices, a thematic matrix, a research-gap matrix, bibliometric data, data used to generate the figures, VOSviewer thesaurus and composite files, reproducibility scripts, PRISMA process documentation, and methodological audit materials. For copyright and database licensing reasons, the full texts of the articles, raw exports from commercial databases, and complete abstracts are not redistributed. The repository also documents provenance-related limitations concerning the individual recording of duplicates identified in the final search and the contemporaneous log of exclusions made after full-text assessment. For the latter, retrospective information is provided, explicitly identified as such and not presented as an original contemporaneous record.
