We hypothesized that diet affects the nutritional status, productivity, and gut microbiome of honey bee colonies as there are being built up for the almond pollination. We expected that our treatments would alter the composition of the adult worker gut microbiome. We found that supplemental forage affects the worker microbiome longitudinally and there are significant within-colony differences of those microbes.
