Beach volume and area

This file contains the calculated beach volume and surface area for Kahaloa Beach, Waikīkī, for each survey using the Digital Terrain Model (DTM). The lower boundary is the mean higher high water datum (equivalent to 0.329 m above MSL at Honolulu Tide Gauge; NOAA tides and currents; station ID 1612340), the seaward boundary is the intersection between the DTM and the MHHW datum, and the landward boundary is a fixed line typically determined by structures and walkways. The 2D Area describes the footprint of the dry sand, while the 3D area includes the curvature of the beach face. The two columns 'Volume_low' and 'Volume_high' represent the lower and upper values of volume using a 95 percentile confidence interval the in DTM elevation value multiplied by the 3D surface area.
