Indicative Map of Archaeological Values (IKAW)

The Indicative Map Archaeological Values (IKAW) contains a flat-covering and landscaping classification of the impact rate on archaeological remains. This probability of impact is based on a quantitative analysis and on archaeological knowledge of the soil archive. The map gives an overall picture of the impact on archaeological remains in the soil and underwater. This probability of impact shall be indicated by one of the categories per area of 50 by 50 metres: ‘high’, ‘medium’, ‘low’ or ‘very low’, or: “not kneaded.”
