The provided data describe the analytical results obtained by the definition of a swelling-diffusion model for investigating the behavior of smart polymers. <br><br>The proposed stress-diffusion model is employed to investigate three particular and consecutive processes. Furthermore, an incremental approach is formulated in order to extend the Biot’s theory of linear poroelasticity towards prestressed bodies. <br><br>The proposed formulation and the presented results will be a useful tool which can be exploited by the scientific community in order to compare and validate numerical, analytical and experimental investigations concerning constrained gels.<br><br>
