Persistent Trauma Three Decades After the Halabja Massacre: Psychological Symptom Profiles and Hair Cortisol Levels in Gas Attack Survivors

This data set contains anonymized psychological and biological information collected in 2023 from 209 survivors of the 1988 Halabja chemical assault in Iraq's Kurdistan Region. Trauma-related psychopathology was assessed with valid and culturally relevant psychometric tools (PCL-5, HSCL-25, PHQ-15, PSS-14, and War & Adversity Checklist) and biological indicators of stress (hair cortisol/cortisone). Data were collected by standardized Sorani Kurdish interviews in collaboration with hair sampling.
