资源简介:
Description:This dataset contains NetCDF files with processed data used to generate the figures in the associated study investigating precipitation, extreme weather phenomena, and storm characteristics using global kilometer-scale climate simulations and observational datasets. The simulations were performed with the ICON model at convection-permitting resolution, enabling explicit representation of mesoscale convective systems, tropical cyclones, and extreme precipitation processes. The files include gridded fields, frequency distributions, statistical summaries, and derived diagnostics for precipitation, temperature, wind, storm structure, and related atmospheric variables. Observational reference datasets include satellite-based precipitation products and other established observational datasets. The data are provided in NetCDF format and include all variables necessary to reproduce the published figures. Each file corresponds to a specific figure and contains the processed data used directly for plotting, rather than raw model output. Variable names, dimensions, and units are stored within the NetCDF metadata.File overview:Fig01–Fig04: Global temperature and precipitation characteristicsFig05–Fig06: Diurnal cycle diagnosticsFig07: Wind gust and extreme wind evaluationFig08–Fig10: Tropical cyclone tracks and tropical wave diagnosticsFig11–Fig12: Mesoscale convective system characteristicsFig13–Fig14: Precipitation contributions and extreme precipitation phenomenaFormat: NetCDF (.nc)Coordinate system: Latitude–longitude grids (degrees) or bin-based statistical coordinatesSoftware: Files can be read with standard NetCDF tools (e.g., Python xarray, netCDF4, MATLAB, NCL)Usage:These data allow full reproduction of the figures presented in the associated publication and support further analysis of precipitation processes and extreme weather in kilometer-scale climate simulations.
