Trust in people, law and politics; European comparison

In this table you will find the trust in other people and the trust in law and politics of residents of different European countries aged 15 years or older since 2002. Trust in other people is determined by the question “Do you think that in general most people can be trusted or do you think one cannot be careful enough in dealing with others?”. Trust in law and politics has been established by asking how much confidence one has in various political and social institutions, namely the national parliament, the judicial system, the police, politicians, political parties, the European Parliament and the United Nations. The data in this table are based on the European Social Survey (ESS). The ESS is a biennial study commissioned by the European Commission, the European Science Foundation and the European Science Foundation. various national scientific research organisations. Data available from: 2002 Status of the figures: The 2018 figures are provisional. The figures from 2002 to 2016 are final. Changes by: 30 July 2021. 2016 figures have been revised and finalised and the 2018 figures have been added new. When will there be new figures? The new figures will come in 2023. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most countries have postponed their research.
