Investigation of the magnetic properties of MnBr2 and VBr2 a VdW layered magnetic thin film.

Thickness dependent magnetic order of MnBr2 and VBr2 on Au(111) and 2H NbSe2(001) will be determined via XMCD spectra and XMCD magnetization loops. In the case of a ferromagnetic ground state of a monolayer at low temperature, it would be the starting point to study topological superconductivity and Majorana bound states by means of the low-temperature Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM).
