The data, which is areal, identifies the bands of supraregional connection divided into three types: Alpine bands with high naturalness and low connectivity for low-altitude elements, mountain bands with good naturalness and connectivity (Ligurian Alps in the Apennines), shared river network towards Valle d'Aosta (Dora Baltea), Lombardy (Ticino, Sesia, Po), Canton Ticino - Switzerland (Lake Maggiore, Centovalli)
